Safe Harbor Marina's Plymouth Marina offers the only true full-service marina and full-service yard on Cape Cod Bay. Our highly skilled service teams have specialties in engine, mechanical and systems repairs, fiberglass work, Awlgrip refinishing and rigging.

Plymouth Marina is seeking a full-time ear-round Marine Mechanic for immediate start. As a Marine Mechanic you will be responsible for diagnosing, and repairing boats and engines brought to our marina for service in addition to performing scheduled maintenance and conducting quality checks on work performed to ensure that repairs are made correctly the first time. Our vision at Safe Harbor's Plymouth Marina is to take all the hassle out of the boating experience and make boating simple.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Ability to winterize, shrink-wrap and commission all type of vessels
  • Perform diagnostics and repair all types of marine engines
  • Handle multiple work orders and document work that has been performed
  • Troubleshot, repair and install electrical accessories in boats
  • Work with the Service Manager to perform all tasks needed to run the business


  • Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience as a marine mechanic a huge plus!
  • License or certification for Mercury outboard, Mercruiser and/or Cummins diesel another plus!
  • Must be flexible, dependable and be able to work well independently or as a team


Job Requirements

  • 3+ years in the marine repair trade preferred
  • Knowledge of gas diesel and outboard engines
  • Basic understanding of AC/DC electrical systems
  • Strong attention to quality work and detail
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 Ibs
  • Capable of crawling, kneeling, sitting and standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
