Safe Harbor Marinas’ Walden Marina located in Montgomery, Texas has an immediate opening for a Full Time General Manager position. As the leader in marina property acquisition and ownership worldwide, Safe Harbor Marinas is revitalizing the industry with an unprecedented focus on service and community. We're looking for ambitious and outgoing leaders with ownership-mentality who aspire to be responsible for all aspects of their own properties, to become General Managers and beyond. Our vision is to take the hassle out of the boating experience and make boating life simple and fun. Walden Marina has an opening for a General Manager who shares our vision and commitment to servant leadership in a marina located on the banks of beautiful Lake Conroe.

 

The Role

The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the marina. The most important aspects of the operation are maintaining the highest level of customer service and appearance of the facility and its staff, profitability, oversight of all departments as well as a vision for the future growth of the location. These are not the only responsibilities. Other duties include but are not limited to budgeting, accounting, staffing, reporting, leasing, legal compliance and emergency preparedness and response.

Requirements

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Provide an excellent level of courteous service to all members and their guests as well as to all visiting clientele.
  • Manage all personnel closely -both veteran and novice. Ensure established company procedures are followed.
  • Ensure the safety of employees, customers and visitors. Train employees in the safe use of marina equipment and all emergency procedures. Ensure timely and accurate filing of Incidents.
  • Identify and develop employees for progression and advancement within the Company.
  • Manage budgeting, and ordering.
  • Maintain productive, positive relationship with tenants, vendors, contractors and local authorities.
  • Ensure proper controls for safeguarding marina assets.
  • Understand and comply with government regulations pertaining to facility. This includes but is not limited to: Fire Department, Weights and Measures, Coast Guard, OSHA, EPA, DEEP and Department of Labor Department. Maintain professional relationships with agency representatives and contractors.
  • Proactively seek ways to promote the marina to maximize potential, including special events for customers.
  • Follow and ensure appropriate accounting procedures for closing and balancing cash registers, credit card charges and miscellaneous receipts. Safeguard all funds/receipts and petty cash.
  • May perform other tasks assigned by senior management.
