Position Summary

The Director of ERP Improvement will be responsible for attaining expert knowledge of end user processes and understanding how IT supports those processes, creating ERP implementation plans across a distributed portfolio of marinas, executing effective ERP conversions, gathering and acting upon feedback from end user, and ensuring end users are trained and have the necessary resources within the ERP to succeed.


SHM is in the process of developing a new customized marinas ERP that we will introduce to our marina portfolio in 2019. THe Director of ERP Improvement will coordinate across several departments to define date needs for a successful conversionn, identify operational processes to be completed ahead of the implementation of the ERP, and build an implementation plan. In addition, SHM inconstantly grwoing through acquisitions of new marinas, each of which require ERP conversions. The Director of ERP Improvement will be intimately involved in the process of onboarding new employees through acquisitions onto our ERP.

SUccess in this role requires having an aptitude and intrinsic interest in project management, knowledge of both the IT componets and operational processes that define an ERP, and abiity to develop IT solutions to address end user needs.


The company's headquarters are based in Dallas, Texas. However, out highest concentration of marinas is located in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts (the Northest). We will consider highly qualified candidates in both Texas and the Northest.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities

  • Experience leading the implementation of ERP's, ability to effectively work across various departments, including IT, Operations, Accounting, and Marketing, and knowledge of how to successfully coordinate and implement in a distributed portfolio of assets
  • Working knowledge of internal control frameworks, especially as related to IT controls', with an acute understanding of IT and business risks related to implementing ERP's
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills and advanced project management and status reporting capabilities
  • Mindset of operational end users defining the ERP, ability to quickly learn operational end user processes and needs, and willingness tot take ownership of issues and develop solutions
  • Ability to clean and analyze date, especially date that may not be standardized across various locations or easily manipulated 


Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years in a realted field required, prefeably in professional services and/or industry
  • Experience with inventory strongly preferred
  • Certifications such as CISA, CISSP, and PMP strongly preferred
